The cottage is well placed for activities in Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders. The area is well known for fishing, golf, road cycling and mountain biking, bird-watching and walking. There are castles, mansions, gardens, abbey ruins, forests, cafes, restaurants and galleries.

Here is a short list of things to do in and around the village to start with:

  • Walks: Village ‘history tour and catwalk’ , Reservoirs, Mendick Hill, the Pentlands.

    Stanes at Glentress and Innerleithen. Bike hire can be arranged.
  • Road Cycling: the Tweedlove Festival, local Sportives and Audaxes.
